METERS (Middle East Tennessee Emergency Radio Service) is sponsoring a Ham Radio class this fall. The class will be at the College of Applied Technology Center (1100 Liberty Street), Knoxville, TN. The class will be held from September 17 through November 19, 2015 and it will be on Thursday evenings for 10 weeks, with the last class being an exam session for a license. Classes are FREE. A Class Manual (optional) cost is $30.00. The Testing fee for the last class is $15.00. Free online study guides are available. More information at: METERS Web SiteDeadline for registration is September 3rd, 2015. To register, email: training@metersinc.org or call John Dever at (865) 719-5231. Ham radio is a definite asset in an emergency when the power goes out and cell phones and the Internet fail to work. Our area needs a lot more HAM radio operators, especially those trained in CERT procedures!

I would be very interested in this class; unfortunatly, I teach karate in Oak Ridge Tuesday/Thursday nights. I have some of my black belt students and guest instructors covering for me the 7 weeks of CERT, but it would be had to turn around and then not be there for 10 thursdays right after that.
How often is this class ofered, and is there ever a variation on the times? Thanks!
