There are several useful weather sites that you should probably have in your app list or home computer. These are:
Weather Underground where you can get a quick synopsis or a full blown forecast of your area. It was voted most popular site on lifehacker.com. If you are an amateur meteorologist, they have a paid membership where you can get statistics of all kinds.
NOAA/National Weather Service gives you local access to the Radar maps in the area, directly from Morristown TN where our
regional NWS is located. You can watch the weather in steps to see what is trending too, and whether or not you need to keep
an eye out for that Thunderstorm or Tornado headed your direction!
They also sponsor SKYWARN Weather Spotters so they receive very timely reports from observers on the ground as to what is
really happening on the ground as opposed to what is up in the sky only.
Forecast.io works on your desktop OR smartphone or tablet, and asks you for your location and gives you a quick look at what's going on now and in the next hour, 24 hours, and 7 days. You can get more detailed reports on the site also.
Weather Spark is a site that is for the visual people, with graphs and charts of the weather that would satisfy even the pickiest meteorologist types.
Intellicast is one that many people like for their radar views. Their interactive weather map shows the whole area and what's coming.
AccuWeather is another popular site for people to use. This sites also has links to current weather related news stories.
