If you aren't familiar with SKYWARN, here are some links below to our local National Weather Service office. From this site www.srh.noaa.gov/mrx/?n=skywarn_page is their explanation about SKYWARN: "What is SKYWARN? SKYWARN is a nationwide network of volunteer storm spotters trained by the National Weather Service (NWS) to report significant weather. Anyone with an interest in weather is welcome to participate. To become a trained storm spotter, you need to attend a storm training session, offered at various times and places across the Morristown County Warning Area." Storm training sessions are posted at this page: www.srh.noaa.gov/mrx/?n=skywarn_classes and most are given in the season preceding severe weather (usually early in the year).
