Welcome to the Knoxville/Knox County Community Emergency Response Team Discussion Board, for active and interested CERT members. Please read this message in its entirety since it discusses how we want to proceed on here.
This forum was created to discuss topics related to CERT Emergency Preparedness and hopefully will be used to assist CERT members in their own neighborhood to share information about ideas, web sites, products and services they have found useful. We would also like it to be used as a way of letting people know about events that might use their CERT skills as volunteers, or about other emergency response related trainings and events going on in the area.
This board was set up because at our meetings we noticed that quite a few members have good ideas that they would like to share. This lets everyone gain the benefit of their knowledge and makes it accessible even after the meetings have ended.
Please note that this board is NOT sponsored and has no association with Knoxville/Knox County CERT or local government, but is simply a volunteer effort by an interested CERT member, so if there is something you take issue with on here, please take it up with us directly. An email account has been provided for questions and comments, listed below.
Please limit information you post on this forum to topics related to CERT in general, and/or Knoxville/Knox County, Tennessee CERT specifically. Everyone has something to contribute and everyone has something to learn, so we hope you can participate as you have the time.
Please do NOT post advertisements here not related to CERT products or services not related to emergency response or emergency education. We already get enough SPAM in our lives, and we don’t want that to happen here. Be notified that anyone doing so will be removed from this board.
We hope over time that topics of specific interest will be developed to make information easier to find in the future.
We also created this board to be accessible even after your CERT training ends, to share events and any other training going on that would be of interest to a CERT Volunteer.
We have set up a general email account at knoxcert@gmail.com if you have questions that shouldn’t be posted directly here.
Any ideas are appreciated, as our goal is to keep active as CERT members even after the training stops.
